Site Narrative:
In June 2010, a Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessment was conducted for the property. During the Phase II, three soil borings and groundwater samples were collected and found above RSK detections of Tetrachloroethylene (PCE), Tricholoroethylene (TCE), and Cis-1,2-Dichloroethylene (DCE). The propertu owners were referred to the KDHE Dry Cleaning Release Trust Fund The site was accepted into the Dry Cleaning Release Trust Fund in June 2010. The site was not ranked high enough to receive immediate funding and was placed on the backlog list until funding was made available.

In 2018, a preliminary groundwater investigation was completed. Groundwater analysis indicates above RSK levels of PCE, TCE, Cis-1,2-DCE, and VC. The contamination has migrated off property approximately 300 feet to the east, almost to the state line, and 150-200 south. This migration may put part of the plume in Missouri and is likely impacting Indian Creek. Immediately upgradient to site is a residential area.

Monitoring wells may be installed to further delineate plume migration. A vapor intrusion study may also be conducted. Soil probing and/or a soil gas survey should be completed. Investigation of the area east of the state line should be evaluated by Missouri authorities.
