Site Narrative:
The Reid Supply facility was identified as a source area in the Gilbert & Mosley Site. The previous owner/operator was involved as a party in the Gilbert & Mosley during litigation activities. The owner was found liable for source control measure costs as part of the summary judgment of the lawsuit. The City of Wichita is pursuing cost allocations for the implementation of a Source Area Investigation and Source Control Measures. Long-term monitoring continues in this area. Contamination is currently being addressed with the Gilbert & Mosley remediation system.

This site is included in source sites to be addressed by City of Wichita. Site is an orphan site and under the 1991 consent order for the G&M site. A work plan for the CI/CAS was approved by KDHE in February 2018. Initial investigation was conducted in March 2018. A second phase of the investigation was conducted in July 2018. The CI Report was approved on July 23, 2019. A CAS is forthcoming.

A Corrective Action Study report was submitted to KDHE by the City of Wichita. And KDHE received the Corrective Action Study and reviewed and approved the report. A Corrective Action Decision (CAD) is forthcoming.

The City of Wichita (City) conducted a downgradient investigation plume for the former Reid Supply site employing direct technology methodology. In the Downgradient Former Reid Supply Site - Proposed Monitoring Well Installations report dated June 27, 2024, the City proposed to install five (5) monitoring well pairs to monitor the RSI groundwater plume.
